Illness at Hilton Shark Bay Resort, Sharm el Sheikh

Irwin Mitchell has received enquires from holiday makers regarding the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort in Egypt. Gemma Glossop and Paul Wood from Cheshire stayed at the hotel between 21/06/2009 and the 02/07/2009. Following their stay, both Miss Glossop and Mr Wood contracted gastric illness, which was allegedly cause by poor food and hygiene standards.
Both Miss Glossop and Mr Wood have suffered stomach cramps, diarrhoea and inform us they were disappointed with their stay at the 4* hotel.
Miss Glossop and Mr Wood have informed us they witnessed fresh food being placed on top of the old food when the food should have been replaced, that flies and birds were present in the different restaurants and in particular there was one occasion where Miss Glossop witnessed raw food being left out, uncovered and exposed to the sunlight at the poolside bar.
Miss Glossop and Mr Wood have also reported that the food was kept hot using oil burners and in their opinion, the hot food was not always piping hot. Also some of the cold foods were cool but not properly chilled.
