Complaints over Illness at Club Hotel Riu Evrika, Sunny Beach

Irwin Mitchell has received calls for help from a number of holidaymakers who travelled to the Club Hotel Riu Evrika, in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria after they returned from their holidays in September 2009 suffering from symptoms of food poisoning, including symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea.

Reports allege that the hotel was basic and did not warrant its star rating, particularly as the hotel rooms were small, dark, basic and damp smelling. They also suggest that the location of the hotel was mis-sold.

Additionally, complaints have been made in relation to the food served at the hotel, suggesting that the food was of a poor quality and that there were a lack of hygiene procedures. It is reported that the food was overcooked, the cold buffet was never replaced with fresh food, that the buffet was covered with flies and there was a foul smell of rotting food in the restaurant.
