Irwin Mitchell has received reports of illness amongst holidaymakers who have recently returned from their holiday at the Duni Royal Marina Beach Hotel at the Duni Holiday Village in Bulgaria. The outbreak appears to be affecting mainly those holidaymakers who stayed at the hotel in August 2010.
It is reported that the gastric illness which is believed to be food poisoning was contracted from a fish dish served at the hotel, possibly due to the poor standard of food or lack of hygiene standards when it comes to food preparation. It has also been suggested that the illness was due to Salmonella infection, a severe form of bacterial food poisoning which can leave people with permanent symptoms.
