IFA Bavaro Village Hotel, Punta Cana

Irwin Mitchell is highly concerned for holidaymakers who have recently stayed at or are soon to travel to the IFA Bavaro Village Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, after receiving reports from guests who stayed at the hotel in October 2010 and who returned suffering from symptoms of gastric illness.

Recent reports have suggested that the restaurants at the hotel are not air conditioned, meaning that diners are left to sweat, along with the food, in the humid restaurants. It is reported that food is left uncovered and unprotected from flies and that birds are free to roam the dining areas. This is a particular concern as birds often carry bacteria known as Campylobacter, which can cause serious gastric symptoms in humans who are infected with the bacteria.

It is reported by one holidaymaker that they were so ill upon their return to the UK that they had to seek emergency medical attention.

If you also travelled to this hotel and suffered from gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
