The International Travel Litigation team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned for holidaymakers after reading reports of illness amongst guests staying at the Iberostar Punta Cana Bavaro the in Dominican Republic during their holidays taken in November 2011.
First Choice have promoted this resort to be a 4 star hotel with beach front views and excellent facilities including 6 restaurants: a buffet restaurant and 5 á la carte restaurants.
It has been suggested that the food served at the hotel was often undercooked and that it appeared to be reheated and re-presented to guests over lunch and dinner sittings.
It is possible that the illnesses experienced by holidaymakers were due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures.
