Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn that holidaymakers who have recently visited the Sunrise Island View Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt are returning suffering from symptoms of gastric illness. Irwin Mitchell has been approached by two holidaymakers who have been diagnosed with E-coli. Guests who stayed in the hotel in June 2011 fell ill with symptoms of d diarrhoea, stomach cramps and sickness. In one case symptoms were so severe one holiday maker was admitted to hospital on return to the UK.
Allegations have been made to suggest that there was a lack of hygiene and food handling procedures at the hotel, as meat and fish was served undercooked. One holiday maker has commented on trip advisor that this is a 'very poor resort'.
