It has come to our attention that there is a further outbreak of gastric illness at the Riu Mambo Hotel in the Dominican Republic for holidaymakers who travelled to the hotel in May 2008.
It is alleged that a significant number of guests were struck by symptoms of gastric illness which they believe were as a result of contaminated food consumed at the hotel and inadequate hygiene standards maintained by the hotel. It is reported that a number of guests were affected by symptoms of sickness and diarrhoea and that, in many cases, illness at the hotel allegedly ruined the holidays of many who travelled to this hotel during the above period.
Irwin Mitchell has previously successfully acted in cases against this hotel and the two sister hotels which form part of the same complex, Riu Bachata and Riu Merengue after guests suffered from illness during their stay here in 2005 , 2006 and 2007.
We urge anyone affected by the most recent incident to come forward.
