Irwin Mitchell has received reports of gastric illness amongst guests at the Grand Hotel Royal, located in Sorrento, Italy, during May 2011.
It has been reported that the hotel is continuing to trade on it's former glory and that the hotel is said to be suffering as a result of hosting weddings. Holidaymakers have reported how the weddings supposedly took precedence over other guests and it has been suggested that the food left over from the wedding would be used to feed the hotel guests. It is also suggested that, possibly as a result, guests have fallen ill with symptoms of gastric illness, often including diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and lethargy.
It is possible that, due to a breakdown in food hygiene and food handling procedures, holidaymakers are contracting these symptoms of illness. Further investigations will need to be conducted.
Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness after staying at this hotel.
