Gran Porto Real Resort and Spa, Playa Del Carmen

Irwin Mitchell have received complaints from holidaymakers who have recently travelled to the Gran Porto Real Resort and Spa Hotel, located in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. Recent reports relate to holidays taken in March and April 2011.

Holidaymakers are returning from the hotel suffering from symptoms gastric illness, usually including such symptoms as diarrhoea, vomiting and lethargy. It is believed that the illnesses may be as a result of poor health and hygiene standards at the hotel, particularly relating to food.

Reports have suggested that the food that is meant to be hot is warm and the food that is meant to be cold is not sufficiently cooled. It is also suggested that many of the guests have resorted to eating elsewhere because of the poor food on offer, leaving the buffet restaurant nearly empty. This is despite the hotel being overbooked.

It is also reported that there is a foul smell in the resort, possible due to the amount of seaweed which is left to ferment in a pile outside the hotel.

Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness after staying at this hotel as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
