Irwin Mitchell has received reports that holidaymakers are returning from the Presidente Hotel in Benidorm, Spain, suffering from symptoms of gastric illness. Recent reports of illness relate to holidays taken in February and March 2011.
It is reported that holidaymakers contracted what is believed to be food poisoning contracted from the food consumed at the hotel. One holidaymaker has described how they spent most of the night doubled over the sink and making use of the toilet. They have also suggested that the food provided at the resort was never hot.
Irwin Mitchell received similar reports of illness for this hotel previously in 2004.
