Irwin Mitchell is acting on behalf of a client who contracted legionnaires disease after staying at the Club Palm Garden Hotel in Srilanka during the summer of 2009.
Legionnaires disease is a form on pneumonia and our client suffered for a number of weeks with symptoms such as stomach cramps, fever, diarrhoea and vomiting. Our client was lucky in that he could be treated from his home on a strict course of antibiotics.
Irwin Mitchell are unaware of other holidaymakers who became ill during their holiday at the above hotel and would urge anyone with more information or who were affected by illness to contact us.
The tour operator, Sunspot Tours Limited (trading as Mercury Direct) is currently investigating the allegations.
