Riu Club Hotel Bellevue Park, Port El Kantaoui

Irwin Mitchell, we are concerned for holidaymakers who have recently visited, or intend to visit the Riu Club Hotel Bellevue Park, located in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia, as holidaymakers returning from the hotel in August 2010 are reporting symptoms of gastric illness.

It has been reported that the hotel was not maintained to a 4 star standard and that guests were immediately disappointed after noticing the worn scruffy carpets that led to their rooms. It has also been reported that the location of the hotel was poor and that the 'sea view' which had been paid for was not as expected. Building work which continued day and night also ruined the holidays of a number of guests.

Reports have suggested that holidaymakers have become ill with suspected food poisoning, possibly due to the poor food hygiene standards practised at the hotel. The food provided at the hotel has been criticised, suggesting that the food was extremely repetitive and of a very poor quality. It has also been alleged that meats, such as chicken, were served being pink in the centre. Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of such poor quality and hygiene and preparation of the food, particularly in relation to chicken being served undercooked, as undercooked poultry can often be the cause of food poisoning and serious bacterial infections.

In addition to the poor food, it has been reported that a number of guests contracted chesty coughs, possibly as a result of the poorly maintained air conditioning units. A number of guests were affected by these symptoms. Legionnaires disease, a serious form of pneumonia which can be fatal, can often be contracted from poorly maintained showers and air conditioning units.

If you also travelled to this hotel and suffered from gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
