Illness at Vincci Nour Palace Hotel, Tunisia

Irwin Mitchell is extremely concerned for holidaymakers who have recently holidayed or intend to holiday at the Vincci Nour Palace Hotel in Tunisia after recent reports have indicated that there is an outbreak of illness, possibly as a result of the standard of food provided at the hotel.

The four star all inclusive hotel is the subject of further criticism after there was reports of Campylobacter food poisoning at the hotel during late 2009. Reports have indicated that large numbers of holidaymakers were ill and that the majority of guests staying at the hotel were experiencing painful stomach cramps, diarrhoea and sickness, symptoms which are consistent with food poisoning.

The cause of the illness is yet to be confirmed however, the symptoms contracted and the complaints made by holidaymakers would indicate that the cause of the illness may be down to the poor quality of food provided at the hotel and the lack of sufficient hygiene procedures practiced by hotel staff during food preparation.

Our concerns are emphasised as Irwin Mitchell has recently settled a case on behalf of a young girl and her mother who travelled to the same hotel in 2006. The 13 year old girl contracted Salmonella food poisoning whilst at the hotel. Irwin Mitchell acted for the pair and overwhelming medical evidence confirmed that the gastric symptoms suffered by her would remain permanent. Settlement was agreed in excess of £25,000 on behalf of both clients.

This hotel clearly has a poor track record and it would appear that conditions at the hotel are not improving, despite previous complaints.

If you also travelled to this hotel and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be entitled to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
