International Travel Litigation team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned for holidaymakers after reading reports of illness amongst guests staying at the Bodrum Holiday Resort and Spa, Bodrum, in Turkey during their holidays taken in August 2011.

It is reported that many people staying at the hotel had fallen ill with symptoms of gastric illness, suspected to be food poisoning. It has been suggested that the food served at the hotel was often undercooked, particularly from the grill, and that it appeared to be reheated and re-presented to guests over lunch and dinner sittings.

It is possible that the illnesses experienced by holidaymakers was due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures.

It has also been reported that the hotel staff were unfriendly.
