Lykia Botanika, Turkish Aegean Coast

It has recently been brought to Irwin Mitchell's attention that a large number of guests who have stayed at the Lykia Botanika Hotel in Turkey, during October 2010, have contracted symptoms of gastric illness. A recent report, being from the mother of a young girl, has explained how her daughter contracted severe symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting, ruining the holiday.

Upon returning to the UK, the young girl was confirmed to have contracted Salmonella poisoning, a serious bacterial infection. She explains how it is now February 2011 and that her daughter is continuing to suffer from symptoms. Salmonella infection is a bacterial infection which can cause severe symptoms of stomach cramps, diarrhoea and vomiting. In some cases, such an infection can leave permanent symptoms.

It is reported that other guests staying at the hotel were similarly affected.

Complaints have implied that the food was only ever warm and that a microwave was provided so that food could be reheated by holidaymakers. Additionally, holidaymakers witnessed food being dropped and placed back on display and that shards of glass were found in some dishes.

If you also travelled to this hotel and suffered from gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
