Irwin Mitchell has been approached by holidaymakers staying at the Butlins resort in Minehead who have returned from the popular British holiday resort complaining of food poisoning. Irwin Mitchell already represent in excess of 250 holidaymakers who stayed at the Butlins resort in Bognor Regis earlier in 2011 who complained of similar gastric symptoms.
Reports would indicate that the cause of the gastric illness may have been due to the poor quality of food and lack of hygiene standards practised at the resort. In particular, it is suggested that food was not served at the correct temperature and undercooked, recycled food is being displayed. It is reported that guests suffered from symptoms including violent diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
