Clydebank Hotel, Edinburgh

Irwin Mitchell have recently received reports of an outbreak of gastric illness at the Clydebank Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland. Reports from April 2011 suggest that 24 guests and 3 staff members have fallen ill with symptoms of gastric illness, experiencing symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting.

It is reported that the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Public Health Protection Unit was contacted to investigate the outbreak.

It has also been reported that those who fell ill did not stay at the hotel overnight but were guests of the hotel attending a conference.

The nature of the symptoms and circumstances around the illness would suggest that the cause of the illnesses may have been due to the lack of food hygiene procedures practised at the hotel.

Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness after staying at this hotel.
