Illness at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow

Irwin Mitchell has been approached to act for holidaymakers who travelled to the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow in July 2010, some of who fell ill with Norovirus.

The outbreak at the Glasgow Hilton hotel affected more than 20 guests and 14 staff with symptoms including diarrhoea and vomiting. Afflicted guests were kept to their rooms to prevent the illness from spreading, whilst two individuals had to be taken to Gartnavel General Hospital.

The holidaymakers have told us that they fell ill with gastric symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach cramps. They were aware of other guests who were staying at the hotel at the same time and who suffered from similar symptoms.

The holidaymakers believe there were approximately 75 people in total who fell ill after staying at the hotel. The holidaymakers have described worrying examples of very poor hygiene standards in the hotel.

If you have been affected by gastric illness following a stay at this hotel, you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday and also the pain and suffering caused by the illness.  For more advice on making a holiday illness claim, contact us on 0800 056 0066 or complete our enquiry form and we will call you back.
