Irwin Mitchell has received reports from disappointed holidaymakers who have recently returned from the Le Meridien Abu Dhabi Hotel, Abu Dhabi, in Dubai after reportedly contracting symptoms of gastric illness, possibly food poisoning, following their holidays in May 2011.

Reports have suggested that the hotel is appears to very tired and that maintenance is said to be poor, with yellowing decor, sinks and showers that throw back debris and with lifts that do not work.

Reports have also suggested that there may have been a break down in food handling and hygiene procedures, which may have been the source of the illness. One holidaymaker reports that raw meat was sat in display units outdoors in near 40 degrees heat, bathing in blood. The food did not appear to be fresh and it is reported that there was a poor selection of dishes.
