Accident on the Queen Mary II

A lady from Leicester sustained personal injury whilst enjoying a holiday on the Cunard cruise ship Queen Mary II.

The incident took place aboard the Queen Mary II on 27th July 2008.

The tourist was walking on deck 7 when she was suddenly struck on the left shoulder by a quoit believed to have fallen from deck 12 were the game of quoits was allegedly being played.

After examination by the ship doctor, she was advised that she had suffered bruising to her shoulder and neck. As a result of the injury the tourist was unable to lift her arm for approximately 4 weeks.

The Defendant denies liability, however, the tourist claims that there is witness evidence by other passengers who assisted her after she was struck and lay on the floor.

Investigations are ongoing into the matter of liability.
