Austrian Coach Crash
Irwin Mitchell successfully recovered compensation for a group of 12 injured passengers and relatives of a further passenger who died on a coach following an accident in Austria on 10th August 2004.

The party of British tourists were returning from an excursion to Berchtesgarten in the German Alps. A minibus was overtaking the coach when it caught the front of the coach causing the coach to swerve and roll down a bank. Many passengers were seriously injured.
The driver of the minibus was found guilty of causing the death of five people and injuring 40 others and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for 3 years and was fined €3,600.
Many passengers were seriously injured. A claim was brought against the owners of the minibus in Austria. Irwin Mitchell obtained interim payments and then final settlements after negotiations with the minibus company’s insurers.
