We represented 12 Claimants who travelled to Kenya on holiday. As the stay was booked on an all inclusive basis each of the guests was offered a safari excursion. Whilst on this excursion the safari camp was attached by bandits, 2 of the party sustained physical injuries including a lacerated hand and damaged index finger and at least 2 of the women were threatened with sexual assault. All of the claimants were left shaken and traumatised by the events.
After a drawn out series of negotiations with the 2 Tour Operators concerned, damages were agreed in excess of £90,000 for the group of 12 individuals who brought an action.
