Hotel Accident in Florida
Published date:

Julie from Stafford was staying at a hotel in Florida as part of a package holiday, while staying at the hotel, she walked down a stairwell from her hotel room when, due to a lack of lighting in the stairwell, she was unable to see anything in front of her, causing her to lose her footing and fall sustaining a sprained ankle. She was off work for 2 weeks because of her injury.
Because she had purchased a package holiday, we were able to bring a claim against her tour operator in England for the failures on the part of the hotel for failing to ensure that there was adequate lighting on the stairwell. The tour operator’s insurers settled out of court and Julie recovered £1750 in compensation for her injury and loss of enjoyment of her holiday.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing form the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
