Mrs W from Middlesex booked a package holiday with dial-a-flight.com to stay at the Anatara Resort and Spa in Hua Hin in Thailand.
Holiday Accident Thailand
As Mrs W was walking on the hotel grounds from a Gazebo to her room, she slipped on a grassy slope that led from the Gazebo. The grass was wet from having been watered shortly before. There were no signs or warning given of the slippery nature of the grass.
As a result of her slip, Mrs W collided into the iron stand of a lantern. The lantern had been removed leaving a sharp hook. Mrs W caught the metal hook with her arm. As a result of her accident, Mrs W needed 17 stitches in her arm which left a permanent scar.
Irwin Mitchell Solicitors pursued an action on behalf of Mrs W against the tour operator. The tour operator initially denied liability though later agreed to settle her claim. Mrs W recovered £8200 in compensation for her injury and financial losses.
