Man contracts Salmonella following his stay at the Brisas Del Caribe Hotel, Cuba in 2004.
Irwin Mitchell acted on behalf of a couple who holidayed at the Brisas Del Caribe Hotel, Cuba in 2004 and who fell ill with serious gastric illness symptoms. On return to the UK, the gentleman tested positive for Salmonella and his partner was also diagnosed as suffering with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Whilst staying at the hotel, the couple complained of poor quality conditions, particularly in relation to food preparation and general hygiene conditions in the restaurant area which the clients had said were appalling. This was an all inclusive holiday booking and Irwin Mitchell felt that the clients had strong grounds in proving liability.
The tour operator, The Holiday Place denied liability but following negotiations our clients were awarded almost £15,000. The tour operator agreed to pay for our clients' legal costs.
