Couple awarded £15,500 after ruined holidays at the Rodos Maris in Rhodes, Greece
Irwin Mitchell acted for a couple who travelled to the Rodos Maris Hotel in the Greek resort of Rhodes in 2005 on an all inclusive basis. Not long after arriving at the hotel, one of the couple was struck down by serious gastric illness which was later confirmed to be Salmonella.
The couple noticed that the food was undercooked, not served at the right temperature, and seemed to be reheated. They also saw insects in the food and cats were seen roaming around the restaurant area.
Tour operator yourholiday.com admitted liability and our clients were awarded almost £15,500 in compensation without the need for issuing formal legal proceedings. The tour operator also paid the couple’s legal costs.
