Illness Outbreaks at Corfu Marina Hotel, Majorca
Mrs W travelled on holiday to the Corfu Marina Hotel, Majorca.
During the holiday she became ill suffering from symptoms of gastric illness and on her return to the UK she was diagnosed with Cryptosporidium. She suffered from painful and intrusive gastric symptoms for about 18 months and has been left with residual symptoms of post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
A claim was brought on behalf of Mrs W as part of a group illness claim on behalf of fourteen Claimants who suffered with a variety of illnesses including Salmonella. Proceedings were initiated against the tour operator, First Choice.
Settlement was reached following negotiations with the Defendant and Mrs W recovered £14,000 in compensation.
