During the holiday she became ill with gastric illness and on her return to the UK was diagnosed with Cryptosporidium. She suffered from around eighteen months of painful gastric symptoms and has been left with residual symptoms of post infective irritable bowel syndrome.
A claim was brought on behalf of Mrs W as part of a group illness claim on behalf of fourteen Claimants who suffered with a variety of illnesses including Salmonella. Proceedings were initiated against the tour operator, First Choice.
Although liability was never admitted, Mrs W recovered £14,000 in compensation.
Mrs W said "I wish to thank Irwin Mitchell for the work that they have carried out on my behalf and I am happy that they have been able to assist me in gaining justice against the tour operator".
