Leading the market in terms of exposure, profile and ability... having cornered the market in claims against tour operators and foreign domiciled defendants for accident and group action illness claims arising abroad... the firm is championed by many as the self-styled people's friend.

Illness at Club Diana, Turkey
Irwin Mitchell successfully acted for 4 holidaymakers who stayed at the Club Dianna Hotel in Turkey in summer 2006.
3 of them fell ill with gastric illness and 1 was diagnosed as suffering from e.coli. In addition, our clients had numerous quality complaints relating to poor hygiene standards in the hotel’s restaurant and kitchen facilities, the pool area and public areas of the hotel. In the restaurant the food was left uncovered for long periods therefore being exposed to the elements. Insects were also seen in and on the food. The crockery and cutlery was dirty and the restaurant area was dirty in general. Food often appeared uncooked and when served on the buffet inadequate heating equipment was provided and/or in use. The food appeared to be reheated and served on more than one occasion. They also reported concerns about the poor cleaning within the hotel room and the appalling and unhelpful attitude of the hotel.
Negotiations with the Defendant tour operator resulted in our clients being awarded compensation totalling £6,700. The tour operator also agreed to pay our client’s legal costs.
