Pineta Club Hotel, Turkey
Compensation recovered after family reunion at the Pineta Club Hotel in 2007 in Turkey was ruined by illness.
Irwin Mitchell acted for an extended family of 9 who holidayed at the Pineta Club Hotel in Turkey in 2007. The family had booked the reunion as an opportunity to meet up and spend some quality time together. The rooms at the hotel were in an appalling state, they were dirty and hardly ever cleaned throughout the entire stay.
Animals were seen freely roaming in the hotel grounds and entering the restaurant area. The food served in the restaurant was left uncovered for long periods of time. Failures in hygiene practices at the hotel caused all 9 members of the family to fall ill with a gastric illness.
Following settlement negotiations between tour operator Thomas Cook and Irwin Mitchell, the family were awarded over £10,000 in compensation. The tour operator also agreed to cover their legal costs.
