Legionnaires' Disease Claim After Hotel Stay
Ivor Enock was employed as a Construction Consultant at Heathrow Airport on the terminal 5 project. He contracted Legionnaires’ disease after staying at the Le Meridien Hotel.
He was hospitalised and remained in hospital for a period of 9 weeks. During this time he suffered respiratory and kidney failure resulting in him needing dialysis. He spent some time in intensive care and has never made a full recovery from his illness.
His lifestyle was greatly affected and he noticed a worsening in his diabetic condition. He suffered fatigue and low moods and was unable to return to work resulting in significant loss of earnings.
Irwin Mitchell acted for Mr Enock in a legionnaires' disease claim. Although liability was denied throughout the claim, damages in excess of £215,000 were awarded after negotiations with the Defendant.
