Gastric Illness Contracted at Hotel

We successfully recovered compensation for a family of twelve who all subsequently contracted gastric illness at a hotel.

Leanne Beven and Andrew Beven and 10 other family members from Sunderland travelled to the Villa Doradas Hotel in the Dominican Republic in September 2005.  The family were meant to be enjoying the holiday of a lifetime as well as attending the wedding of Leanne and Andrew whilst in the Dominican Republic.

Leanne, Andrew and the rest of the group all suffered with symptoms of diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting.   This ruined the families holiday and the couples wedding day and some members of the party have continued to suffer with symptoms.

The Defendant My Travel admitted liability in respect of the group and Irwin Mitchell went on to secure compensation in respect of all clients in the sum of £57,940.
