Pedestrian knocked down in France
We recovered record compensation in a claim brought in France for client who sustained a serious head injury.
Our client and his wife were on holiday in France and were out walking when they were hit by a motor car being driven by a French man. The driver faced criminal charges in respect of the accident. Our client’s wife was killed and our client suffered a severe brain injury, facial injuries, a punctured lung and a fractured pelvis. He was in a coma initially and required neurosurgery in France where he remained in hospital until the end of August. He was then transferred to the UK where his treatment continued. He is currently living in a residential unit in Loughborough and the compensation he has received will enable him to return to live in a home of his own with an appropriate care regime in place.
We brought a claim on behalf of our client against the driver and his insurers in France. Although proceedings were issued, the settlement was negotiated out of court.
Our client recovered £2.2 million in an out of court settlement.
