Injury Onboard Rowing Boat on the Shennong Stream, China

Michelle went on holiday to China where she was involved in a boating accident on 2 June 2006 when travelling in a fifteen seater rowing boat on the Shennong Stream.

The boating accident occurred when a man from another boat pointed a sharp pole at Michelle's boat. The man deliberately pointed his sharp pole at the boat which pierced the boat and Michelle's ankle. She suffered injury from the sharp point of the pole, piercing and cutting the skin and left ankle.

Michelle was shaken and shocked following this accident. For some eight weeks following the boat accident in China on 2 June 2006, she had severe pain and particularly acute symptoms as a result of the injury she had sustained to her left ankle and foot.

Liability had been admitted by the Tour Operator with the total amount of compensation awarded at £9,000.
