Skiing Accident in France
€11,432.52 recovered following skiing accident in France
Our client sustained injury following a skiing accident on 20 January 2006 in La Clusaz, France.
Our client was skiing in perfect skiing conditions on a green run when she was hit from behind by a French snowboarder who was going downhill at speed. The snowboarder realized she was going to hit our client and tried to slow down, but fell and slid across the rear of our client’s skis, causing her to spin and fall on her shoulder. Our client sustained a dislocated right shoulder and fracture of part of the head of the humerus.
Our client was evacuated from the piste by stretcher and then taken by ambulance to local hospital. The accident was reported to the local French police.
The French insurers for the snowboarder accepted liability.
We were able to recover €11,432.52 on behalf of our client. This included compensation for personal injury, medical and travel expenses, and the unused portion of ski pass. It also included compensation for gardener’s costs as our client had an extremely large garden and was unfit to tend it for several months.
