British Tourist Injured Following Accident in Lanzarote
We are acting for a British tourist who was injured whilst playing football at the El Trebol hotel in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, Spain in October 2007.
Our client, who was on a package holiday with Thomas Cook, was playing football on the hotel pitch with some friends. He scored a goal at one end of the pitch and in celebration swung from the goalpost. After the teams changed ends, our client scored another goal and again swung from the goalpost in celebration, however the second goalpost was not secured to the ground and fell on top of him, knocking him unconscious to the ground.
Our client was taken to hospital with a head injury. He has been left with scarring to his head and some ongoing problems with his memory and concentration.
We were instructed to pursue a claim for compensation against the tour operator, Thomas Cook and following lengthy negotiations we were successful. Our client was very pleased with the outcome.

We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome.
