£300,000 recovered following oil rig accident in Holland

We successfully recovered £300,000 in compensation for our client who was severely injured in an accident while working on a gas rig off the coast of the Netherlands.

The accident occurred when the part of the rig that our client was working on exploded. Our client was rescued and taken immediately to hospital in the Netherlands and then brought back to England where he had intensive treatment to save the use of his hands which had suffered severe burns in the explosion. The accident also left our client with psychological injuries.

As well as complex medical issues, the case was complicated further by the fact that the accident happened in Dutch waters, the gas rig concerned was owned by a French company and our client was employed by an English company. We were able to advise our client on all the options open to him for pursuing his claim.

The claim was ultimately pursued in England. An out of court settlement was successfully negotiated by us for our client with compensation paid of £300,000.
