Bougainvillea Beach Resort, Barbados - 2016
We’ve been contacted by a holidaymaker who fell ill during her stay at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort, Barbados in February 2016.
Despite a number of positive reviews at the hotel, the woman told us that she suffered from a respiratory illness while staying there. She reports suffering from flu-like symptoms, including fever, shivering, vomiting and pain in her neck.
The tourist says that she continued to suffer from these symptoms when she returned to the UK. She went to her local hospital and was subsequently admitted and diagnosed with pneumonia. She was discharged after 3 days but has told us that she has still not recovered from the illness.
Respiratory symptoms can range from a mild cough to breathlessness, which can develop into flu-like symptoms. Having significant experience in helping those who are unfortunate enough to contract respiratory illness we know first-hand that it can take a significant period of time for a sufferer to recover.
If you also travelled to the Bougainvillea Beach Resort in 2016 and have subsequently suffered respiratory problems, we’d like to hear from you. You may be entitled to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, as well as the pain and suffering caused by your illness.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
