Grand Hotel, Sunny Beach, 2016
Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by a British party who traveled to the Grand Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria on an all inclusive basis in August 2016.
All of the party fell ill with symptoms including diarrhoea and fever and one member of the family sought advice from a walk in clinic on return.
Despite some positive reviews, other holidaymakers who stayed in July and August 2016 also noticed that some of the food served was lukewarm. Other holidaymakers describe having to re-heat food in a microwave.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness, with sometimes permanent long term complications arising such as Post Infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
