Chateau Lake Louise Hotel, Banff National Park
Irwin Mitchell has recently received alarming reports that about 36 people, including both guests and staff, of the Chateau Lake Louise Hotel have fallen ill with symptoms of a gastric nature. A report dated 6th May 2011 suggests that the cause of the illness may be a Norovirus but this is yet to be confirmed.
It is reported that staff members and approximately 20 hotel guests have fallen ill with severe symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea and nausea. Although it is believed that the illness may be viral in nature, Alberta Health Services have been called in to investigate the cause of the outbreak. It is reported that guests were quarantined to their rooms for 24 hours and that the staff were asked to leave the hotel until their illnesses had resolved.
The hotel is reportedly undergoing a deep clean in an attempt to eliminate any present virus. It is also reported that guests were offered medical attention, food and fluids. Illnesses of a viral nature can be very severe and are often spread by a lack of hygiene.
Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness after staying at this hotel.
