Legionnaires Disease - Ontario 2011
The International Travel Litigation team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned for holidaymakers after reading reports that the number of cases of legionnaires’ disease reported in Ontario is higher than usual this year, which has prompted public health units across the province to increase surveillance for the disease.
So far 116 cases of legionnaires disease have already been reported in 2011 and public health experts have suggested that it may be due to the hot summer contributing to the growth of Legionella pneumophila, the bacterium which causes the disease.
If you have also travelled to Ontario and have legionnaires disease, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.
For more advice on making a holiday illness claim, contact Irwin Mitchell on 0800 056 0066 or complete our enquiry form and we will call you back.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
