Our International Personal Injury team is currently representing a group of passengers who sailed on the Costa Diadema Cruise around Italy in March 2016.
The tourists contacted us after their holiday with complaints of diarrhoea, sickness, severe abdominal cramps and pain. They also suffered extremely high temperatures and sweats. These symptoms are still being experienced by the passengers and have affected their quality of life upon their return to the UK.
The standard of food on board the vessel was said to be poor, and the passengers claim that members of staff were not wearing gloves or using the gel sanitizers for their hands. It has also been reported that passengers suffering with symptoms were not told to stay in their cabins.
