Oceania Cruise, July 2016

We're concerned to learn about guests falling ill with gastric symptoms while aboard the Oceana Cruise from Genoa to Venice in July 2016.

Our International Personal Injury team have been contacted by passengers who suffered symptoms of gastric illness during their stay on board the ship in July 2016. Passengers have reported several issues with the ship, including the poor hygiene standards on board, particularly in the restaurant areas. One holidaymaker commented that many passengers were observed failing to use the sanitising hand gels on board and that crew members did not correct this, despite its importance in maintaining hygiene standards around the ship.

Jennifer Mullins, a Solicitor and International Personal Injury Lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, said: “It is concerning to hear of passengers falling ill on the Oceana Cruise in July 2016, particularly so following reports earlier this year that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found a host of violations on the Oceana liner which posed a potential health risks to passengers. We would urge anyone else who has encountered similar issues on the Oceana Cruise to get in touch as they may be able to help with our investigations.”

If you also travelled on board the Oceana Cruise and suffered symptoms of gastric illness, or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with claims of this nature would like to hear from you.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
