Queen Victoria Cruise, 2015
Irwin Mitchell’s specialist International Personal Injury team has been instructed by a couple following their cruise on board the Queen Victoria between February and April 2015.
The couple took a trip on the world cruise to celebrate a 70th Birthday but during the voyage, both passengers started suffering from a severe cough. They purchased antibiotics from the onboard pharmacy but the cough persisted until they returned to the UK. The cough gradually worsened and one of the couple experienced an episode where she could barely breathe. An ambulance was called and she was admitted to hospital for a week. She was put on an IV drip and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Jatinder Paul, an international personal injury expert, said: “A once in a lifetime world cruise was completely ruined for this couple as the voyage ended horrendously due to a hospital admission.
“Our client continues to suffer with breathing problems and we will now be conducting our own investigations as to the cause of the illness and we would encourage the cruise operator to take similar steps.”
If you have also travelled on board the Queen Victoria Cruise and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, or sustained an injury, we would like to hear from you.
