Celebrity Mercury by Celebrity Cruises

Irwin Mitchell is concerned for holidaymakers after recently receiving reports that the Celebrity Mercury cruise liner has been dubbed the 'Queen of Norovirus' for 2010 as the ship currently holds the record the most cases of illness on board a single ship in one calendar year. It is reported that there has been 1,058 reported cases of illness. This gives a 19% infection rate amongst passengers over the space of three voyages.

It was previously reported that over 300 passengers had been struck by symptoms of gastric illness during their cruise on board the liner when the ship was travelling from South Carolina to the Caribbean and departed on 15 February 2010 and which returned on 26 February 2010. It was reported that a significant number of holidaymakers became ill with symptoms of gastric illness including diarrhoea.

The same vessel has also been the subject of Irwin Mitchell's concern because there have been previous reports of illness on this ship for the years 2008 and 2009. Additionally, there were reported outbreaks in 2006.

If you also travelled onboard this ship and suffered gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you have suffered.
