Thomson Celebration Cruise

Irwin Mitchell has once again been instructed by a number of holidaymakers staying on board the Thomson Celebration Cruise in the Red Sea who are returning from their holidays complaining of gastric illness. Irwin Mitchell’s leading travel law team are currently acting for a dozen clients who holidayed on board the cruise in early 2011, who also fell ill with similar symptoms, allegedly as a result of the poor standards of food hygiene on board the ship.

It is alarming to learn that such problems are still being encountered on board the ship, with recent reports suggesting that holidaymakers have contracted serious bacterial infections as a result of a breakdown in food hygiene procedures. Such infections can leave permanent symptoms including an alteration of bowel habit, stomach pains and irritable bowel syndrome.

Reports indicate that the cause of the gastric illnesses may have been due to the poor quality of food hygiene practised on board the ship. Food was said to be have been served uncovered and appeared to be reheated and represented later in the day. Passengers have fallen ill with gastric symptoms including diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and constipation.

If you also holidayed on board this cruise and suffered gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you have suffered.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
