Our specialist International Personal Injury Team has been contacted by a couple following their stay on board the MS Rhapsody of the Seas in August 2016.

During the cruise the couple report that they began to experience symptoms of gastric illness, including diarrhoea and vomiting. One client’s symptoms were so severe that they were forced to seek medical treatment from the doctor on board the ship who administered an injection and prescribed medication. The couple were aware of others that were also struck down with illness. The passengers report that the ship was dirty, that there were greasy substances on the lift buttons and staircase rails, and that they rarely saw members of staff cleaning the ship during their stay.

Unfortunately for this couple, their holiday was ruined as a result of the illness and the lack of concern shown by the cruise liner, meaning that their holiday will now be remembered for all of the wrong reasons. Our clients continue to suffer with symptoms and we will now be conducting our own investigations into the cause of the illness suffered”.
