Blau Colonial Hotel, Cayo Coco, Cuba

Here at Irwin Mitchell we are concerned to read of holidaymakers falling ill with symptoms of gastric illness during or following their holidays taken at the Blau Colonial Hotel in Cayo Coco, Cuba. Most recent reports relate to holidays taken in January 2012.

Even more concerning is the fact that the specialist International travel Litigation team here at Irwin Mitchell has previously acted for holidaymakers who fell ill at this hotel in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Recent reports have suggested that the food served at the hotel was “awful” and that guests wouldn’t feed the same to their dogs. Service at the restaurants was slow and the food was not cooked properly. One guest recalls how he saw raw meat left on the side, unrefrigerated, being cooked to order. It is possible that as a result of such a breakdown in food handling and hygiene procedures, guests contracted gastric illnesses believed to be food poisoning.

If you also travelled to this resort and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you.
