Hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria, 2017

The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned to see recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at the Hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba between January and March 2017.

Despite positive reviews of the hotel online, Irwin Mitchell have learnt of reports regarding holidaymakers who fell ill during a stay at the hotel. One holidaymaker claims that “cooked/uncooked meat is prepared with the exact same spoon/knife” whilst another claims that “burgers on the beach are pre-cooked and warmed on the grill”. Another claims that “warming tables at the end of the buffet line either didn’t work or were turned off” and that “cold(ish) food was common at that end”. Other holidaymakers report falling ill with gastric symptoms with one diagnosed with e coli.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness Irwin Mitchell know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness, with sometimes permanent long term complications arising such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you also travelled to the Hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
