The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of recent reports of illness concerning guests who became ill with gastric illness after stays at the Iberostar Laguna Azul, in Cuba, in May this year.
Despite some positive reviews, Irwin Mitchell has learnt of reports that state that some of the sandwiches ordered contained mould whilst another holidaymaker said that ‘food was left uncovered with flies on it’ It was also noted that on occasions, ‘meat and cheese were not cooled but left out in the open.’
Concerns were also expressed with regards to the level of hygiene at the hotel with one guest stating that the ‘sheets and towels did not appear to have been changed from the previous guests.’ They also added that their sheets got changed on the second night and some of the towels were ‘either grey or blood stained.’ Other holidaymakers reported that they suffered from violent diarrhoea.
